Preparing for Christmas does not always fill us with joy; we may feel despair, lonely, like we will never be good enough, or that things are spinning out of control. During Advent, come experience God’s peace through a special worship service. This Sunday, December 9th, at 4 pm in the Sanctuary, you are invited to come and pray for healing in body, mind, spirit, situations, and relationships. You can come and pray for yourself or for a loved one. There will be Scripture, song, and silence; forgiveness and reconciliation will be offered; prayer with anointing and the laying on of hands will also be a part of the service, as well as Holy Communion.
It may be that you feel reluctant to participate because you might be judged or made to feel awkward; or perhaps you find the entire notion of a prayer service unsettling. Please come anyway–we are all in need of God’s healing presence, in many different ways, and no one will be judging anyone else! Christians have prayed for healing from the very beginning of our faith, and we have different signs and means of making that prayer. Come and be a part of something as timeless as God’s mercy on Sunday afternoon.
